CREATIVE WRITING REFLECTION
I have really enjoyed being in this class. I feel as though I am more self aware of how I write and what I enjoy writing. I have never seen myself as a writer and never really enjoyed it, but now I see it as another creative outlet that I really enjoy. Although I have been spending a lot of my time this quarter writing college essays and supplements, the playwriting workshop really helped me get out of my head. I have always had ideas of things I could write about, but never actually found the time to do so. I believe using my passion for the performing arts will open up a door into creative writing; therefore, I would love to write more stage and screen plays. I would really like to continue working on the play I started over the past two weeks throughout the rest of the school year. Because I have studied many plays and monologues in theatre classes and workshops, writing plays feels very natural to me. By the end of the year, I would like to have a short play as well as a compelling monologue finished. Overall, I have really enjoyed this class this quarter. It has opened a door to a new passion that I can pursue throughout college.
